Miel Avena is a Fashion Designer, founder and sole proprietor of Huesmnl Apparel. She creates each piece in her home studio at the heart of Quezon City. Besides sustainable accessories, they also produce Medical Apparel under Scrubs by Huesmnl which started in 2020. She also does Custom Bridals & Formal wear under her namesake. Her design identity focuses on simplicity of structure, paying more attention to detail which most of the time she prefers to craft by hand.

She graduated with honors from De La Salle - College of Saint Benilde with a Bachelors Degree in Fashion Design & Merchandising and then later on took up British Bespoke Tailoring from SLIMS Fashion & Arts School.

Avefino

Avefino is a term in short for Avena + Filipino.

It has always been a dream of Miel to create Ready-to-Wear Apparel which focuses on the roots of Filipino Culture for the Filipino people.

What does this mean?

Well for her, the essence of Filipino designed garments rely on the silhouettes that give a natural flow. And these are achieved with fabrics that are also produced locally such as Jusi & Piña.
